Getting to know...Ness!

May 21, 2020

When Ness joined the crew... It was like it was meant to be! I have actually known Ness’ twin sister Peta for quite some time as our boys were born - as coincidence happens on the same day!

So when I put the call out for a general “all-rounder!” with a “can-do” attitude, Peta mentioned Ness just so happened to be looking for work.. And I guess they say, the rest is history!

Meet Ness

I should start by saying, Ness’ name is actually Vanessa but everyone fondly calls her Ness’ or Nessooooo’ if you are Geoff! (You'll come to learn he shortens/adds an “o” to any name he sees fit! LOL)

What do you do at Montii?

I’ve been at Montii for... Gosh, almost 12 months! I’m a bit of an all-rounder, I look after our customer service replying to any questions and issues that come in via our FB page or emails. I keep the office supplies up to date (no one likes to run out of sticky tape – especially Geoff) and of course you’ll often see me on stories and replying to DM’s.

Tell us about your family

It’s me and my two kids, Mila who is almost 8 and Hudson who is 5. We are lucky enough to live on a property with the family which is a great support!

Tell us an online brand that you love, and why?

You might have noticed, I have a bit of a clothing obsession! My go-to is The Iconic! They have a great range, fab customer service (like someone else I know!) and fast shipping! Can’t beat that in my books.

Do you have a celebrity doppelgänger?

I don’t think so but I do have an identical twin sister!

What is your spirit animal, and why?

Maybe a sloth, not because I’m lazy, just very cruisy...

What weird food combination do you really enjoy?

Oh, that’s tricky! Nothing unusual that I can think of if they don’t go together - they shouldn’t be eaten together!

What is the dumbest way you have ever been injured?

It probably involved a few too many wines to remember haha!

What is your most unusual talent?

I can still do a pretty decent handstand and cartwheel!

If you could jump into a pool full of something, what would it be?

I wouldn’t be upset if there was a pool of Sav Blanc! This definitely sounds like it could end in one of those dumb injuries though!

That's a wrap for Ness, stay tuned for our next instalment of Getting to Know You!

Getting to know… Kowen!

June 18, 2020

Kowen (aka Kirsty) tries to hide more behind the camera than in front! So we thought, it was about time we changed that. We put Kowen in the hot seat to ask her all the questions.. So let’s find out all the important stuff!

Meet Kowen!

I feel like a little bit of Deja Vu here, Kowen’s real name is Kirsty, but with one Kirsty already in the office (yes, what are the chances!) we decided that was too confusing and swifty did a little OC nickname!

What do you do at Montii?

I’ve been at Montii for around 10 months (I think!) I do content production and design. So in other words, all the pretty pictures you see..bag prints… packaging..the product photos you see! That’s my handy work.

Do you have a celebrity doppelganger?

Apparently, Kirsten Dunst - but I’m totes not a fan!

What is your spirit animal, and why?

Sparrow…..because I’m an early bird and I lurve birds, I totally want to be a twitcher when I’m retired.

What weird food combination do you really enjoy?

I love any and every condiment or add on available especially the hot ones like Jalapenos, wasabi etc…...I also recently decided that Apple Cider Vinegar and Pasta Salad are the best combo ever.

What is the dumbest way you have ever been injured?

I broke my arm climbing off bunk beds while playing Murder in the dark with my brothers.

What is your most unusual talent?

Hmmm I make a mean sand village at the beach. Is that a talent?

Do you have any superstitions?

Nope, not superstitious at all.

If you could jump into a pool full of something, what would it be?

Chocolate. Without a doubt, chocolate.

10 Top Tips for Drinking More Water

June 12, 2020

Now the weather is cooling down, I know for a fact that I’m not drinking anywhere near enough water! (Despite owning the most beautiful bottles ever)

So yesterday I put it to you guys to share YOUR top tips for drinking more water!

I was so surprised to see so many of you in exactly the same boat and the cooler weather making it even more tricky to keep up that water intake. And just as an FYI we should be drinking around 2L of water every day (or 3-4 Original Bottles worth!)

Here are some of the tips I loved and will be giving a go!

  1. Set a reminder every hour. Whether that be on your smartwatch, an outlook reminder or phone alarm (basically whatever will remind you to take a big ol’ swig of water!)
  2. Having a glass before every meal or snack (win-win, if you are a big snacker like me!)
  3. Adding lemon or lime to your water - because everyone likes a hint of zest in their day.
  4. Use a straw - funny but it seems easier to sip than pick up a bottle!
  5. Drink from a smaller bottle so it feels more achievable (I tried this today and it’s a winner, pat on the back at the end of each bottle #WellDone!)
  6. When the weather is cooler, drink warm or room temperature water.
  7. Or the opposite, you might prefer your water icy - in which case add ice cubes!
  8. Infusion tea! An added boost of flavour to your water.
  9. Post-it note - right in front of your face as a reminder LOL
  10. The BEST tip (of course!) have a pretty bottle, just like MontiiCo

I’d love to hear if you give any of these a go and if they work for you!
