HOW LONG DO YOU LUNCH BAGS STAY COOL FOR?
Each large lunch bag includes our best-selling ice pack, along with a high-quality lining that enhances insulation. This combination ensures your meals stay cool for up to 8 hours, making lunchtime a breeze! Our Medium lunch bags include a smaller sized ice pack, perfect for keeping lunches cool for up to 6 hours.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY INSULATED LUNCH BAG?
We recommend unpacking your lunch bag as soon as you are finished using it, and wiping the interior of the cooler bag with a damp cloth to remove any crumbs or spills. This includes removing the ice pack.
If a spill occurs in a lunchbox or lunch bag we recommend cleaning it as quickly as possible.
HOW DO I WASH MY INSULATED LUNCH BAG?
Regular cleaning will extend the life of your bag by removing dirt and food particles from within the fabric before they grow into mould.
Our lunch bags are machine washable - so it couldn’t be easier to keep them clean! They’re a little shy and need to be washed on their own, in cold water, on a gentle, longer cycle. Fast cycles tend to have a vigorous spin which can damage the lunch bag.
Normal detergent is fine, but please don’t put in any fabric softeners or stain removal products as this may discolour your bag. Do not bleach, soak or iron.
If your usual wash doesn’t remove staining, make a paste from laundry powder and water and apply it directly to the stained area. Gently brush into the stain, taking care not to damage the fabric. Leave for 15-20 minutes before machine washing.
DOES THE INSULATED LUNCH BAG COME WITH AN ICE PACK?
Yes, all lunch bags come with a self-contained gel ice pack that is independently certified as "food safe". The ice pack is included in its own black cover and is designed to fit perfectly in each lunch bag size (Large and Medium).
IS THERE A DEDICATED ICE PACK POCKET IN ALL INSULATED LUNCH BAGS?
Yes, each lunch bag has a separate ice pack pocket to keep the ice pack and food separated. This prevents condensation from forming and keeps the food dry.
DOES THE LUNCH BAG FABRIC HAVE A COATING APPLIED TO IT?
After conducting extensive testing for several years, we selected a water-resistant coating for our Lunch Bags that meets our food safety standards and testing criteria. This coating allows for easy cleaning and quick drying. To prevent mould growth, it's important to make sure the bag is completely dry before storing it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from dark, damp places.
HOW DO I LABEL MY LUNCH BAG?
All MontiiCo Insulated Lunch Bags come with a sewn in name label inside. Please do NOT use iron on labels as this can melt the foam lining in your lunch bag. Otherwise use a bag tag that can be clipped on to personalise your child’s bag.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED WAY TO CARE FOR MY ICE PACK?
To care for your ice pack, follow these steps: · Freeze the ice pack flat and without its black outer fabric cover. · Remove any frozen residue on the outside of the ice pack before placing it in the cover/bag. · Always place the included ice pack inside the black fabric ice pack cover before using it inside the lunch bag.
HOW SHOULD I USE MY ICE PACK?
To use your ice pack, always place the included ice pack inside the black fabric ice pack cover before using it inside the lunch bag. The cover is designed to reduce the amount of condensation that forms inside the bag and help keep lunches dry and fresh.
IS THE GEL NON-TOXIC?
Yes, the gel is independently certified "food safe" and non-toxic.
HOW LONG DO THESE ICE PACKS STAY FROZEN?
The length of time our ice packs stay frozen depends on several factors, such as where you live, how many times you open your lunch bag, and for how long. However, our gel packs often come back partially frozen after school!
HOW DO I CLEAN MY GEL PACK?
To clean your gel pack, wipe it with some soapy water. Make sure the ice pack is dry before putting it back in the freezer.
MY ICE PACK IS PARTIALLY FROZEN, AND THE OUTER LAYER IS WET. CAN I PUT IT IN THE FREEZER?
No, you should dry off your ice pack before putting it back in the freezer. This will prevent condensation from occurring, and the ice pack will continue to stay dry on the outside.
DO YOU SELL THE MONTIICO ICE PACKS SEPARATELY?
Yes we sure do! You can purchase a spare ice pack on our website. You can also use different size Ice Packs in different size lunch bags as below:
- The Medium Ice Pack fits in Large, Medium bags & Midi Cooler bags, making it a lighter option for our Large bag.
- The Large Ice Pack fits in our Large bag, Midi Cooler bag and as a tight fit in our Medium bag.
CAN THE LUNCH BAGS FIT INSIDE THE BACKPACK?
Yes, our Large and Medium Lunch Bags can fit comfortably inside the Backpacks and Junior Backpacks with ample space to spare.
HOW MANY COMPARTMENTS DOES THE BACKPACK HAVE?
Our Original Backpacks come with three generously sized compartments, each equipped with a two-way zip closure. Additionally, there are two spacious side pockets, which provide additional support for tall bottles, as well as a padded interior pocket, perfect for a laptop or tablet.
Our Junior Backpacks come with two compartments, each equipped with a two-way zip closure. The Junior Backpacks have one side sleeve for a drink bottle.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP FOR THE BACKPACKS?
Our Original Backpacks are ideal for primary school-aged children and older, as they are quite roomy. The Backpacks are designed with custom, easy-to-grip zips that are simple for little hands to operate. For Kindy and Prep aged kids we recommend our smaller Junior Backpacks.
