Getting to know… Steph!

How did Steph manage to be the last one to answer our hard-hitting blog questions? She’s the boss! That’s how!

All jokes aside, we know many of you really want to know more (because deep down we are all sticky beaks!) So let’s ask all the questions we know you *really* want to know!

Meet Steph

What do you do at Montii?

I guess you could say I’m the boss? I started Montii in 2017 and prior to having a team (still pinching myself about that!) I did all.of.the.things! From designing the products right through to emptying the office bins. What I LOVE most is being creative! Basically, my brain doesn’t switch off (ever!) - so these days, I have a whole bunch of ideas and now have an awesome team who helps me bring them to life.

Tell us about your family

It’s me, my hubby Lee and our three boys! Hux who is 9, Sulli who is 7 and Louie who is 8 months old.

What is your coffee order?

At the moment it’s an English breakfast tea with coconut milk. But 99% of the time I am all about the GREEN juice.

[#FunFact - Steph doesn’t drink coffee! Yes, crazy right!!]

Tell us an online brand that you love, and why?

It would have to be Active Truth!

I genuinely love their activewear products. (Hello tights that don’t roll down!) Their marketing is genius. They are a local (to us) Brisbane based brand - AND just genuinely nice people.

Do you have a celebrity doppelganger?

I don’t knowwww! I feel like I’m so tall and celebrities aren’t tall.. I’ve been told I look like @katy_potaty (less the height) does Instagram famous count?!

Ps. - I’m 180cm tall for those wondering!

What is your spirit animal, and why?

What about a squirrel? Always busy and building projects?!

What weird food combination do you really enjoy?

Not sure if it's really weird but I love a good condiment. As in - at least one sauce on everything, if not more than one. 

Fave combos include bbq sauce and horseradish on a steak, mustard and mayo on a salad sandwich, and burger sauce AND tomato sauce on chips. (oh and did I mention that apple sauce goes on everything!)

What is the dumbest way you have ever been injured?

Sat on my foot in my office chair, stood up, had pins and needles - and rolled my ankle. Unfortunately, I did it in a crowded office though - not working from home. *SHAME*

What is your most unusual talent?

I have a really weird typing style where only one hand does proper touch typing and on the other dodgy left hand only 1 finger types. But somehow it works - and I can type/ message / chat faster than most people!

I would also say I am a good internet shopper lol. Parcels arrive at my place way too often. I rarely go to the actual shops - as I prefer grabbing everything online (hello introvert).

Do you have any superstitions?

Yes! Very superstitious. I’m quite an anxious person by nature (I have suffered from pretty debilitating anxiety in the past) and I definitely have a few quirks and superstitions. 

If I’m worried about something bad happening - I won’t say it out loud (just in case that makes it happen), also works in reverse - if I want something to happen I will talk about it often, with lots of people! I’m a big believer in the universe sending us signs too - if something is really hard, and just keeps being blocked at every stage - it’s probably not the path I am meant to be on!  

If you could jump into a pool full of something, what would it be?

I’m a reformed chocoholic because I avoid caffeine (see anxiety notes above) - so can I say white chocolate? Or caramilk? Is that even chocolate? Lol.
