Our tips for staying hydrated in Winter

We know we're blessed with warm-ish Winters up here in the Sunshine State of QLD, but we too find ourselves struggling to drink water in the colder months. 
To help stay hydrated, here are our favourite ways to trick yourself into drinking more water:

1. Set yourself a drinking water goal, and a reminder!

Health experts commonly recommend drinking around 2 litres of water a day. Set yourself a goal around the 2 litre mark, and then divide that up into smaller, more manageable quantities. In Montii maths terms, that's 2 of our Mega Bottles, or just over 3 of our Original Bottles.  If you're a part of the smart watch gang you'll know that once every hour you get a little reminder to move your body. Well, you can use that cue as a reminder to drink water too! Don't have a smart watch? Set an alarm on your phone to give you a little nudge every 10 mins past the hour!

2. Try drinking warm water

The last thing you're going to feel like drinking on a chilly Winter morning is ice cold water. Instead of reaching for a tea or coffee first thing in the morning, try drinking some warm or hot water with fresh lemon. We knooooow that's hard (hello caffeine fiends!) but your coffee will wait for you! Steph's hot tip: 
I usually boil the kettle (to make my tea) and add a splash to my bottle. Then I top up with normal tap water until it's the perfect level of warm!

3. Switch to a sipper lid

When you're spending most of your day running around after the kids, or stuck to your keyboard, it can be hard to find the time to stop to rehydrate. Our MontiiCo Sipper Lids are great for quickly sipping on the go.

4. Or better yet - switch to a Smoothie Cup!

Another handy tip for on the go sipping is switching from drink bottle to smoothie cup! This is a hack loved by the Montii Crew who you'll often find sipping from a Smoothie Cup around the office. 5. Ramp up the flavour! 

Let's be honest - drinking 2 litres of water can get just plain boring. There are plenty of ways to sweeten the deal with fresh fruit and herbs - here are a few of our favourites from The Flavor Bible:

6. Keep it in sight
