HOW DO I CARE FOR MY INSULATED LUNCH BAG?
We recommend unpacking your lunch bag as soon as you are finished using it, and wiping the interior of the cooler bag with a damp cloth to remove any crumbs or spills. This includes removing the ice pack.
If a spill occurs in a lunchbox or lunch bag we recommend cleaning it as quickly as possible.
HOW DO I WASH MY INSULATED LUNCH BAG?
Regular cleaning will extend the life of your bag by removing dirt and food particles from within the fabric before they grow into mould.
Our lunch bags are machine washable - so it couldn’t be easier to keep them clean! They’re a little shy and need to be washed on their own, in cold water, on a gentle, longer cycle. Fast cycles tend to have a vigorous spin which can damage the lunch bag.
Normal detergent is fine, but please don’t put in any fabric softeners or stain removal products as this may discolour your bag. Do not bleach, soak or iron.
If your usual wash doesn’t remove staining, make a paste from laundry powder and water and apply it directly to the stained area. Gently brush into the stain, taking care not to damage the fabric. Leave for 15-20 minutes before machine washing.
DOES THE INSULATED LUNCH BAG COME WITH AN ICE PACK?
Yes, all lunch bags come with a self-contained gel ice pack that is independently certified as "food safe". The ice pack is included in its own black cover and is designed to fit perfectly in each lunch bag size (Large, Medium, and Mini).
IS THERE A DEDICATED ICE PACK POCKET IN ALL INSULATED LUNCH BAGS?
Yes, each lunch bag has a separate ice pack pocket to keep the ice pack and food separated. This prevents condensation from forming and keeps the food dry. The Insulated Cooler Bags have a mesh inner pocket to hold the ice pack.
DOES THE LUNCH BAG FABRIC HAVE A COATING APPLIED TO IT?
After conducting extensive testing for several years, we selected a water-resistant coating for our Lunch Bags that meets our food safety standards and testing criteria. This coating allows for easy cleaning and quick drying. To prevent mould growth, it's important to make sure the bag is completely dry before storing it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from dark, damp places.
HOW DO I LABEL MY LUNCH BAG?
All MontiiCo Insulated Lunch Bags come with a cardboard name tag that fits inside a plastic sleeve within the bag. Our Cooler Bags do not have a name tag sleeve. Alternatively, you can use a sticker name tag (we find the ones with rounded covers are more effective). Do NOT use iron on labels as this can melt the foam lining in your lunch bag. Otherwise use a bag tag that can be clipped on to personalise your child’s bag.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED WAY TO CARE FOR MY ICE PACK?
To care for your ice pack, follow these steps: · Freeze the ice pack flat and without its black outer fabric cover. · Remove any frozen residue on the outside of the ice pack before placing it in the cover/bag. · Always place the included ice pack inside the black fabric ice pack cover before using it inside the lunch bag.
HOW SHOULD I USE MY ICE PACK?
To use your ice pack, always place the included ice pack inside the black fabric ice pack cover before using it inside the lunch bag. The cover is designed to reduce the amount of condensation that forms inside the bag and help keep lunches dry and fresh.
IS THE GEL NON-TOXIC?
Yes, the gel is independently certified "food safe" and non-toxic.
HOW LONG DO THESE ICE PACKS STAY FROZEN?
The length of time our ice packs stay frozen depends on several factors, such as where you live, how many times you open your lunch bag, and for how long. However, our gel packs often come back partially frozen after school!
HOW DO I CLEAN MY GEL PACK?
To clean your gel pack, wipe it with some soapy water. Make sure the ice pack is dry before putting it back in the freezer.
MY ICE PACK IS PARTIALLY FROZEN, AND THE OUTER LAYER IS WET. CAN I PUT IT IN THE FREEZER?
No, you should dry off your ice pack before putting it back in the freezer. This will prevent condensation from occurring, and the ice pack will continue to stay dry on the outside.
IS THERE AN ICE PACK INCLUDED WITH THE COOLER BAGS?
Yes, the Cooler Bags come with a Medium Ice Pack included.
DO YOU SELL THE MONTIICO ICE PACKS SEPARATELY?
Yes we sure do! You can purchase a spare ice pack on our website. You can also use different size Ice Packs in different size lunch bags as below:
- The Mini Ice Pack fits in all 3 bags.
- The Medium Ice Pack fits in all 3 bags, making it a lighter option for our Large bag, and a longer cooling time option for our Mini bag. Our Medium Ice Pack also fits our Insulated Cooler Bag.
- The Large Ice Pack fits in our Large bag and as a tight fit in our Medium bag.
CAN THE COOLER BAGS FIT IN THE BACKPACKS?
Yes, the Backpacks are spacious enough to easily fit the Cooler Bags with ample room to spare.
CAN THE LUNCH BAGS FIT INSIDE THE BACKPACK?
Yes, our Lunch Bags can fit comfortably inside the Backpack with ample space to spare, regardless of which size lunch bag you choose!
HOW MANY COMPARTMENTS DOES THE BACKPACK HAVE?
Our Backpacks come with three generously sized compartments, each equipped with a two-way zip closure. Additionally, there are two spacious side pockets, which provide additional support for tall bottles, as well as a padded interior pocket, perfect for a laptop or tablet.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED AGE GROUP FOR THE BACKPACKS?
Our Backpacks are ideal for primary school-aged children and older, as they are quite roomy. The Backpacks are designed with custom, easy-to-grip zips that are simple for little hands to operate.
