Take the stress out of school mornings

School mornings can be hard, getting everyone and yourself ready for the day and out of the door. We've put together some ideas to take some of the pressure out of school mornings – even if things don’t always go smoothly!

As the start of school approaches, it's a good idea to set some morning and evening routines in place to help reduce the number of changes the kids will experience. Remember, all kids are different and some will adapt faster than others, but creating a good routine means one day they’ll be able to handle it themselves, giving you some precious time back at night and in the morning before school!

There are lots of things you and your children can do the night before to take some pressure off in the morning. Pack their school bag or backpack for the next day with them and remember to check bags for notes and newsletters. Have your kids take a bath or shower and put out their school uniform for the next day.

Take some time to organise lunches and get breakfast things ready for the morning rush. Keep reading for some yummy breakfast ideas!

In the morning, wake your kids up at least 30 minutes before you need them to leave the house. If you've prepped the night before this should give them enough time to get dressed, have some breakfast and who knows, maybe they'll even make their bed one day.

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day and will help your kids to concentrate at school. Our favourite quick and easy breakfast is a smoothie on the run.

Whip up a quick smoothie and pour into one of our Small Smoothie Cups for a mess free brekkie in the car. This is a great breakfast idea for kids who struggle to eat when they first wake up.

Our stainless steel MontiiCo Smoothie Cups come in SmallMedium and Large sizes so that you and your kids can match.

TIP: Our Flexi Stopper Straw Set are designed to use with our all our Smoothie Cups and were made to keep little hands from pulling the straw out of the lid. That means less spills and no more lost straws for you - bonus!

Here are a couple of our favourite breakfast smoothie recipes from My Kids Lick The Bowl:

My go to smoothie recipe is:

    Handful baby spinach
    1 cup frozen mixed berries
    1 tbsp white chia seeds
    1/4 cup rolled oats
    Almond milk

And occasionally I’ll add 1/2 tsp raw cacao powder.

Are there, can you recommend, any smoothie recipes that don’t have banana in them and are made with almond milk. We’ve intolerances to bananas & dairy. Thanks!!!
